NOTES FROM THE STUDIO
A little method.
A lot more possibility.
Practical field guides for choosing, testing, and living with the names you create.
A name that earns its place
Start with the job a name needs to do, then give it one detail worth remembering.
Build place names from everyday work
A crossing, a repair yard, or a market can tell you more than a grand adjective.
Write a small naming style guide
Make a world feel connected without giving everything the same ending.
Test a name in dialogue and on screen
A beautiful name still has to survive a conversation, a narrow menu, and a quick glance.
A structure for your imagination.
Original English examples, clear creative reasoning, and tools that run in your browser. Published independently by Kaissr.
A MORE USEFUL KIND OF SHORTLIST
Choose a brief.
Explore the details.
Start with a particular job.
Browse all 208 tool subjects across characters, places, objects, and stories. Each keeps its own brief, word bank, three fictional scenes, and a longer revision workbook. A harbor and a family name do different work; choose the context before choosing the words.
Make the controls count.
Choose a structure and sound preference, add an anchor, set an initial or character limit, and exclude unwanted fragments. Constraints affect the actual candidate set. A restrictive brief can return fewer names, and the tool will explain that outcome rather than ignore your choices.
Compare before committing.
Inspect construction parts, compare up to three candidates, read a sample sentence, and export a batch with its complete settings. Save promising names locally, then revise them in your own scene. Existing-use checks and final editorial judgment remain part of preparing a name for publication.
